Terms of Service

These terms set out the agreement between you and MagicRiverbend when you book or join one of our weekend walks. Please read them before you take part.

Last updated 1 January 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By booking a walk, joining an outing, or using this website, you agree to these terms of service. If you are booking on behalf of other people, you confirm that you have their authority to accept these terms for them. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not book a walk with us.

2. The service we provide

MagicRiverbend organises guided weekend walks and nature outings in and around Tokyo. Each walk is led by a local guide and follows a published route and schedule. Distances, difficulty ratings and meeting points are given in good faith but may change for reasons of safety, weather or access. We will tell you about any material change as soon as we reasonably can.

3. Bookings and confirmation

A booking is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation. Places are limited and are allocated in the order requests are received. You are responsible for giving accurate details at the time of booking, including the number of people in your party and any information relevant to their safety on the walk.

4. Prices and payment

Prices for each walk are shown at the time of booking and include guiding and route planning unless stated otherwise. Travel to the meeting point, personal equipment and food are your own responsibility. Payment is due as set out in your confirmation. We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.

5. Cancellation by you

If you need to cancel, please tell us as early as possible. Cancellations made at least seven days before the walk receive a full refund. Cancellations made within seven days may be subject to a charge reflecting costs we have already incurred. We will always try to offer you a place on a later walk instead of a charge where we reasonably can.

6. Cancellation by us

Safety comes first. We may postpone or cancel a walk because of severe weather, trail closures, insufficient numbers or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund of the amount you paid for that walk. We are not responsible for separate travel or accommodation costs you arranged.

7. Your responsibilities on a walk

You are responsible for coming suitably dressed and equipped for the conditions, for following the reasonable instructions of your guide, and for staying with the group. You must tell us before the walk of any health condition that could affect your safety. We may decline to allow anyone to continue if we consider their participation unsafe for themselves or others.

8. Minors and groups

Participants under eighteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains in charge of them throughout the walk. Group leaders are responsible for ensuring every member of their party has read and accepted these terms and is fit to take part.

9. Assumption of risk

Outdoor walking carries inherent risks, including uneven ground, changing weather and natural hazards. By taking part you accept these ordinary risks. We take reasonable care in planning and leading our walks, but we cannot remove every hazard of being outdoors.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from any walk is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

11. Intellectual property

The content of this website, including text, route descriptions, photographs and the MagicRiverbend name, belongs to us or our licensors. You may view and share it for personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce or republish it for other purposes without our written permission.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here at the date of your booking. We will post any changes on this page and update the date shown above.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tokyo. If you have a question about these terms, contact MagicRiverbend at 3-3-2 Kamezawa, Sumida-ku, Tokyo 130-0014 or on 03-3625-3523.
